What you see –
St. John’s High School in Sector 26 of Chandigarh is a popular one. It has two blocks – a Junior wing and a Senior wing. These two buildings have spacious classrooms with a minimum strength of 30 students in a class. There are two floors in both blocks with proper arrangement of hygienic drinking water and toilets for the children.
There is a separate biology lab, physics lab and chemistry lab in the higher secondary section. All the three laboratories are quite spacious, well-equipped and can accommodate 60 students at a time. There is a huge playground in the rear end of the school for the students. The school auditorium, just next to the Senior wing hosts different programs and events like science quiz, annual functions, cultural plays and dance shows.

St. John’s High School is one of the oldest schools in Chandigarh known for providing high quality education. The school was founded in the year 1960 and follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus.
A lot of space has been provided within the school premises for co-curricular activities. This includes a separate soccer field, squash area, library, play pen, tennis court, basketball court and a prayer ground. There’s a well-defined cycle stand as well for kids who ride down to the school.
A Teacher’s training program is regularly held at St. John’s High School so that new ideas can be incorporated for making the students learn in a better way. Students are constantly encouraged to ask questions and actively participate in the classroom discussions.
The admission procedure includes a short test for the child. The admission forms are provided in the month of January at the school reception. Students from other schools need to have their School leaving certificate, Academic performance report and Progress report of co-curricular activities.
Transport facility is provided. Kids need to bring their own food from home.
Our verdict –
The school premises are well maintained. The availability of different laboratories along with modern equipment facilitates experimental learning. On Saturdays, parent-teacher meetings are held to ensure communication. There is a lot of parking space available within the school premises.
