What you see – The blue colored store and with a larger than life banner is easy to spot. Meena Bazaar, located on the Chandigarh-Kalka road, is large and lively. Its display window gives you a good picture of what you can expect inside. The air-conditioned store is neat and clean with courteous sales support.

What you get - Meena Bazaar is sprawled over three floors where each floor caters to a specific customer base. A counter sells sarees (cotton, silk and embroidered) meant for office wear, parties or even weddings. The store also has a splendid party wear collection of kurtas and salwar kameez. Here too, the collection is large and you can get a variety of colors in the latest trends and styles.
 
Upstairs, they have denim mini skirts, tops, kurtis, bags etc. The brands range from Pepe to Benetton. The range is affordable, starting from Rs. 500. Another section on the same floor houses clothing for kids. As huge as the women’s section, you can find everything from frocks to denims and party wear here.

The basement is dedicated to men alone. The outer section displays tees, jeans, wallets, belts and houses brands like Adidas, Numero Uno etc. You can pick up a branded tee from here for Rs. 600. Inside, they have the party wear section for men with silk and designer shirts, silk ties, kurtas and other ethnic wear.

Our verdict - Meena Bazaar is a shopper’s paradise. You can find a good and unique purchase easily in the range of Rs. 500-800. However, you need to keep your eyes wide open and be ready to shuffle through loads and loads of clothing. Sarees are on the expensive side though. Credit cards are accepted and they have their own loyalty scheme as well. The salesmen are helpful without being intrusive. They let you explore and only reach out to you when you have made up your mind to buy something. Parking space is available.
